I have the best Dad in the world. I know you think you do, but you're wrong. There are so many reasons to love this guy... here are a couple reasons why I know he loves ME!
1. My Dad isn't big into scary movies. They bore him. But one evening when I was in High School he came home from work early and took me and Kim on a Daddy/Daughter Date. We went and saw The Ring 2. He was SO bored. I can still remember the look on his face through the entire movie. He would rather be anywhere else. But he wasn't. He chose to be there with us. That's the kind of Dad he is. He wants to hang out with us because we're cool- not cuz we're "doing" something cool.
2. Given the choice my Dad would definitely rather watch a basketball game than a dance recital. I think most men would. But my Senior Year in High School my Dad came to his first State Drill Team competition. I would have been fine if hadn't of come. It wouldn't have changed our relationship. But I remember when we took 1st place I was so happy to have my own little cheerleader. Someone who was cheering because 'I' won. Not because of the team.
3. Going to college was the first big life changing event in our family. I was the oldest and the first to leave the home and live on my own. I think it was just as sad for my parents as it was for me. My mom and Dad dropped me off in Logan. They took me and my roomies to lunch at Panda Express and then my mom loaded me up with enough groceries to last ALL my roommates at least 6 months. My Dad kept making jabs about how my mom would cry the entire way home. He hugged me extra tight when they got ready to leave. I don't think he cried the entire way home but I think I saw a tear in the corner of his eye. I knew I would be missed.
4. My Dad treated me like a queen when I got married. He paid for my wedding and went along with all my plans. Even when it meant he had to wear a pink tie. I felt like such a princess. The night before my wedding we went out to Salt Lake and stayed at the 'Inn at Temple Square'. It was the first time I had ever stayed somewhere with valet parking. Everything was gorgeous. It was the perfect last night with my family. He made me feel so special at such an important time in my life.
5. Since getting married my Dad has been there every time I needed him. He's packed up his truck and helped us move every time we find a new place to live. He's done my taxes, comes to visit, takes us to dinner. He's been there at every big event in our lives. I know I can count on him for anything.
I couldn't have asked for a better Dad. I'm the luckiest girl in the world. I love you Dad.
Happy Birthday!

I love my dad too. The morning I got married he gave me a father's blessing and we both cried through the whole thing.
P.S. I love the new header/picture.
I think that you have an amazing Dad!! He “get’s” it!! There are so many that don’t… I’m so happy for you and your family and you guys set such a great example to everyone :) I’d like to think (know) that he’s the kind of Dad mine would have been too.
